In February, the team at DaBell & Paventy Orthodontics had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Selkirk Middle School Career Fair in Liberty Lake. As passionate orthodontic and dental professionals, we love any chance to share about our field, educate people about the importance of oral health, and of course, meet new people!
Selkirk Students Get a Taste of Orthodontics
Teachers and students at Selkirk had many excellent questions about the field of orthodontics – including what it takes to be an orthodontist or dental assistant. We also shared the importance of resiliency, grit, and a hard work ethic. Many students were excited to learn about how Dr. DaBell became an orthodontist after attending Brigham Young University for his Bachelor’s Degree, the University of North Carolina for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS), and then the University of Washington where he was awarded Master of Science in Dentistry and Certification in Orthodontics.
Students also got to check out just how advanced the technology has become in orthodontics and dentistry. Our dental team gave demonstrations showing 3-D dental scans. These detailed digital images give our orthodontists the ability to provide the best in orthodontic care across Meridian and Boise. Oh, and of course, we had some fun with spinner games and giveaways.

There are many opportunities in the field of dentistry – and orthodontics is just one amazing avenue you can take when you are passionate about oral health.
